A Poor Wayfaring Stranger

I am a poor wayfaring stranger,

While traveling through this world of woe,

Yet there’s no sickness, toil or danger

In that bright world to which I go.

I'm going there to see my father,

I’m going there to roam.

I'm only going over Jordan

I'm only going over home.

I know dark clouds will gather around me,

I know my way is rough and steep,

Yet beautiful fields lie just before me,

Where God's redeemed their vigils keep.

I'm going there to see my mother

She said she'd meet me when I come.

I'm only going over Jordan,

I’m only going over home.

I'll soon be freed from every trial

My body asleep in the old churchyard,

I'll drop the cross of self-denial,

And enter on my great reward.

I'm going there to see my loved ones

Who have gone on before me, one by one

I'm only going over Jordan

I'm only going over Home.

I want to wear a crown of Glory,

When I get home to that good land;

I want to shout salvation's glory,

In concert with that blood-washed band.

I'm going there to see my Savior,

To sing His praise forevermore

I'm only going over Jordan,

I'm only going over home.

All In All

He's my all and all.

He's my all and all.

Every time I get in trouble

On Him I will call

He's my bread when I am hungry

He's my shelter in the time of storm

He's my rock in a weary land

And this world can do Him no harm

When I’m way down in the valley

My Savior takes me by the hand

He leads me up on top of the mountain

He lets me view the promise land

Some sweet day I’m going to travel

To that happy home on high

For I've been washed in the blood of Jesus

And I'm ready now to die

I hate to go and leave my children

In this awful world of sin

But if they'd only turn to Jesus

We could all meet again

He’s my all and all

He's my all and all

Every time I get in trouble

On Him I will call

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound

that saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost, but now I'm found,

was blind, but now I see.

Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,

and grace my fears relieved!

How precious did that grace appear

the hour i first believed.

Through may dangers, toils, and snares,

I have already come;

Tis grace has brought me this far

and grace will lead me home

The Lord has promised good to me,

His work my hope secures

He will my shield and portion be

as long as life endures

Yes! When this flesh and heart shall fail

and mortal life shall cease,

I shall possess, within the vale

a life of joy and peace.

Beulah Land

I'm kinda homesick for a country

to which I've never been before.

No sad goodbyes will there be spoken

for time won't matter anymore.

(Chorus)

Beulah Land I'm longing for you

and someday on thee !'I stand.

There my home will be eternal.

Beulah land, sweet Beulah land.

I'm looking now across the river

where my faith will end in sight.

there's just a few more days to labor

then I will take my heavenly flight.

My loved ones now are waiting for me

I now see their robes of white.

The sweetest smiles upon their faces

That’s where the Savior is the light.

I wonder when I'll take my journey.

I now see the end in sight.

It lies across the rolling Jordan

on yonder banks I see the light.

Bless the Lord O My Soul

Bless the Lord O my soul, O my soul;

Worship His holy name.

Sing like never before, O my soul;

I'll worship Your holy name.

The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning,

It's time to sing Your song again.

Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me,

Let me be singing when the evening comes.

You're rich in love and You're slow to anger.

Your name is great and Your heart is kind.

For all Your goodness, I will keep on singing;

Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find.

And on that day, when my strength is failing,

The end draws near and my time has come;

Still, my soul will sing Your praise unending

Ten thousand years, and then forevermore!

City of Light

There's a city of light

Where there cometh no night

For the sun never sets in the sky

In the Bible we're told

That the streets are pure gold

And a cool gentle river runs by

(Chorus)

I'm bound for that city

God's holy white city

Oh yes, I am I'll never turn back

To this world anymore

No matter how rough may be the way

No matter how oft I stop to pray

I'm bound for that city

On that ever green shore

Little children will play

And our hearts will be gay

As we stroll through that city of gold

No more dying up there

No more sorrows to bear

And nobody will be feeble and old

(Chorus)

Crippled Boy

Out in the yard was children playing a game one day

a little boy on crutches was watching wistfully

It was so hard he could not play like the other children do

They saw he was born a cripple and was a baby too

His little heart was broken they would not let him play

As he went to his Mommy you could hear him softly say

I'm so tired Mommy and he bowed his little head

Please rock me for a little while before you put me to bed

(Chorus)

When I get to Heaven Mommy will the angels let me play?

Or will they say I'm a Cripple and I'm in the way?

Here the children never want me I'm a bother they all say

When I get to Heaven Mommy, will the angels let me play?

I wish my Daddy would come home before I go to sleep.

Would you tell him how I waited for his kiss upon my cheek?

That night while all was silent, the angels came that way

and they took him up to Heaven where he won't have to say

(Repeat Chorus)

His daddy had been out all night, out with the drunkards crowd

But when he heard about his little boy you could hear him scream so loud

Oh, God would you please forgive me for the many wrongs

I have done.

And when I have to leave this world, I'll meet my darling son.

(Repeat Chorus)

Glory Land

I'm going to a place so fair, there'll be no pain,

no sickness there.

For God Himself with His own hand

is gonna dry my tears in the Glory Land.

(Chorus)

Come go with me to the Glory Land

Come go with me, won't you take my hand?

What a time we'll have it'll be so grand,

Never more to die in the Glory Land.

Standing on that shore I can see the blood washed throne

I can hear them singing they're singing a brand new song.

I've been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb

Never more to die in the Glory Land.

O sinner hear me when I say, that this old world is gonna melt away

Then what would you give in exchange for your soul,

When your time shall come to go?

(Chorus)

Glory, Glory, Hallelujah

Who's that yonder in the distance

With his garment as white as snow

With a voice that sounds like thunder

Walking on the streets of gold.

His appearance is like lightning

Setting high upon His throne

With ten thousand times ten thousand

Singing we finally made it home

(Chorus)

Glory, glory, hallelujah

Praise the Lamb forevermore

Praise the holy name of Jesus

Bless the Lord o my soul

in that city, there’s a river

Flowing from God's holy throne

Where the tree of life is blooming

Where the half has not been told

No more tears in that city

Death will have to flee away

No more sickness no more heartaches

In that land of perfect day

Glory, glory, hallelujah

Praise the Lamb forevermore

Praise the holy name of Jesus

Bless the Lord o my soul

In that city there’s a table

Seated with the saints of old

With their troubles far behind them

Where they'll never suffer anymore

I'm going home in the morning

Going to live forevermore

Going to walk the streets of gold with Jesus

In that city that lies four square

He's Still Passing By

When Jesus passed by, the dead would arise

Some that were blind, He opened their eyes

The lepers were cleansed, the dumb made to talk

The lame and the crippled would rise up and walk

(Chorus)

He's still passing by, He’s still passing by

He still extends mercy today

The blood that He shed on Calvary’s hill

Still washes our sins all away

Jesus passed by a woman one day

With an issue of blood the Bible does say

She spent all she had, so the story is told

But when she touched His garment

She was made whole

One night on my knees, at an altar or prayer

Jesus passed by and he rescued me there

I called on his name while He was nigh

What a wonderful change when Jesus passed by

How Wide Is The River Of Jordan

The saint lay down to sleep one night

God gave her a dream

She looked into the distance

And saw the River of Jordan stream

As she looked across the river

The water looked so deep

And on the other side of the raging tide

The bank looked so steep

(Chorus)

How wide is the river of Jordan

How rushing the tide

Lord, it just looks so far to the other side

How wide is ol' Jordan

How deep is its stream

Holding to the Saviors hand

It’s not as wide as it seems.

Now when she came to the river's edge

Much to her surprise

It just took one step to get to the other side

Now when I come to the crossing

My friends don't you cry

For I've got one step to take to

Get to the other side.

(Chorus)

Now when the morning time had come

The saint she awoke

As she pondered on the dream she had

She knew the Lord had spoke

And as she thought about that river

The fear of death was gone

For there's just one step to take to her brand new home

I Am Blessed

Through the sunshine and the rain

Even sorrow and pain

Jesus still is my comfort and guide

And His love comforts me, His grace

Has set me free

And some day I shall stand by His side.

(Chorus)

I AM BLESSED, I AM BLESSED

EVERYDAY THAT I LIVE I AM BLESSED

WHEN I WAKE UP IN THE MORNING

TIL I LAY MY HEAD TO REST

I AM BLESSED, I AM BLESSED

I have shoes for my feet, I have plenty to eat

And a home up in Heaven by and by

Brothers and sisters here on earth

They are mine through my new birth

And we'll share in that home beyond the sky

I'll Fly Away

Some glad morning,

when this life is o'er

I'll fly away

to a home on God's celestial shore

I'll fly away

(Chorus)

I'll fly away, oh Glory, I'll fly away

When I die, Hallelujah, by and by

I'll fly away

When the shadows of this life are gone

I'll fly away

Like a bird from prison bars have flown

I'll fly away

(Chorus)

Just a few more weary days and then

I'll fly away to a land where joy shall never end

I'll fly away.

I'm Going to Die on the Battle Field

One day as I was thinking

of unseen things above

My Savior spoke unto me

and filled my heart with love.

(Chorus)

I'm going to die on the battlefield

I'm going to die in the war

I'm going to die in the battlefield

fighting for my Lord

I used to know some people

who would walk and talk with me

but since I've been converted

they turn their backs on me.

Oh glory be to Jesus

oh glory to His name

Salvation makes me happy

out of the battle plane.

I say unto my Savior

my talent is but small

although I am a soldier

I am the least of all.

Some say give me silver

Some say give me gold

but I say give me Jesus

Who saved my dying soul

I'll take this gospel trumpet

and I'll begin to blow

and if the Lord will help me

I'll blow it wherever I go.

I've Just Seen the Rock of Ages

I was standing by the bedside

where my feeble mother lay.

When she called me close beside her

and I heard her softly Say,

I've just seen the rock of ages

Jacob's ladder hanging down.

I've just crossed the river of Jordan

Now, my son, I'm homeward bound.

As we gathered all around her.

Tears began to fill our eyes.

Then she called me close beside her

whispered softly her goodbyes.

Pine trees growing on the mountain

where forever she will lay

There she'll rest beside the fountain

There she'll sleep beneath the Clay.

I've just seen the rock of ages

Jacob's ladder hanging down.

I've just crossed the river of Jordan

Now, my son, I'm homeward bound.

In Search of the Lamb

Out of the darkness of hillsides so steep,

A shepherd so lovingly watches his sheep

and standing his guard, he is troubled to find

instead of one hundred, just ninety and nine.

(Chorus)

So over the mountains and ledges he climbs

aware of the danger but determined to find

the one he's been seeking with all of his might.

The wayfaring lamb, who is lost in the night.

As long as I live, I will not understand

the love of the shepherd in search of the lamb.

So listen to someone who's been in the cold

wandering aimlessly far from the fold

No mountain too Steep and no valley too far

for a shepherd who loves you with all of his heart.

Jesus Left His Home in Glory

Jesus left his home in Glory,

came and died for you and me.

No one knows how Jesus suffered

on the Cross of Calvary.

(Chorus)

Go on, brethren, go rejoicing,

some glad day we will all arise.

In His likeness we will be shining

then we will all be satisfied.

I will sing of my Redeemer,

till the day he calls for me

to be with Him in Heaven

in the bright eternity.

Praise His name,

His name forever.

Lift your voices in His songs.

Spend your time in serving Jesus,

sing his praises all day long.

How my heart is filled with gladness

I rejoice along my way

Help me Lord to do Thy bidding

till I reach my home someday.

Just a Wheel in a Wheel

Sometimes I feel like a wheel a turning

it's rolling on from sun to sun.

I keep moving but! am not gaining.

Seems like life just turns faster than I can run.

(Chorus)

Then I look away across ole Jordan

for a glimpse of that joy when I get home.

Then I feel some reviving in my body.

It gives me a little more Courage to go on.

Sometimes I feel {'m just not worthy

for the kind of deeds my friends have strove

but my prayer will always be,

I'll not despair them.

Seems like life gives me the hardest road.

(Chorus)

Sometimes I feel there's no need in trying

for the joy that I seek isn't meant to be.

Every time I get down near the healing water

Somebody else steps down in front of me.

Kept on Praying

AS I WAS PRAYING

THREE FULL WEEKS I MOURNED

THE FIRST FEW DAYS WERE NORMAL

I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS IN STORE

THE DEVIL GATHERED ROUND ME

SAID OL DANILE WHERE'S YOUR LORD?

I SAID HES NOT COME BY HERE YET

SO I'LL JUST PRAY SOME MORE

I KEPT ON PRAYING

KEPT ON PRAYING

I PRAYED THREE TIMES A DAY

UNTO THE LORD

TEN DAYS HAVE PASSED AWAY

THE DEVIL LAUGHED AT ME

HE SAID NOW DANIEL THERE'S NO GoD

SO WHY NOT WORSHIP ME?

WELL I BURIED MY HEAD MUCH DEEPER

AND I CRIED WITH ALL my MIGHT

I SAID YOUR LIES WILL NEVER WORK ON ME

SO GET OUT OF my SIGHT.

FIFTEEN DAYS HAVE COME AND GONE

AND I AM WEAK FROM FASTING NOW

THE DEVIL SAID UNTO ME

YOU'VE LOST THE BATTLE NOW

WELL I PRAYED AND WEPT AND CRIED TO Gop

THOUGH I DIDN’T FEEL A THING

I SAID MY LORD I KNOW YOU'RE REAL

AND I LET THE PRAYER BELLS RING

(Chorus)

TWENTY DAYS HAVE PASSED AWAY AND STILL I SEE NO SIGN

THE DEVIL SAID UNTO ME

THE LIGHT WILL NEVER SHINE

NOW DANIEL YOU PRAY UNTO YOUR GOD

BUT YOUR BATTLE IS OVER NOW

I SAID COME BACK TOMORROW DEVIL

IM GONNA SHOW You HOW

THE TWENTY FIRST DAY IS DAWNING

BUT SOMETHING IS DIFFERENT TODAY

THE DEVILS WERE NOT PRESENT TO HINDER ME WHEN I PRAY

BUT BEHOLD A HAND HAS TOUCHED ME

AND I HEARD THE GOOD LORD say

OL DANIEL MY BELOVED SON

I HEARD YOU THE FIRST DAY, I HEARD YOU THE FIRST DAY.

Lay My Crown at My Master's Feet

Soon my life will end and I'll hear a sweet sound

Saying come up here and receive a crown

But I don't deserve such mercy or grace

Here's what I’m going to do when I see His sweet face.

(Chorus)

I'M GOING TO LAY MY CROWN AT THE MASTER'S FEET

THEN I'LL BOW DOWN AS THEY CROWN HIM

KING OF ALL KINGS

I'LL SHOUT HALLELUJAH:

MY JOY IS COMPLETE

WHEN I LAY MY CROWN AT MY MASTER'S FEET

All the good things I’ve done

seem so little to me

If not for His love,

then where would I be.

So lost without hope, no future in view

When I see my Lord, here's what I’m going to do.

Life's Evening Sun

Each day I'll do a golden deed

by helping those who are in need,

my life on earth is but a span,

and so I'll do the best I can.

(Chorus)

Life's evening sun is sinking low,

a few more days and I must go

to meet the deeds that I have done,

where there will be no setting sun.

To be a child of God each day

my light must shine along the way

I'll Sing His praise while ages roll

and strive to help some troubled soul.

I'll help someone in time of need,

and journey on with rapid speed.

I'll help the sick, poor, and weak

and words of kindness to them speak.

While going down life's weary road

I'll try to lift some travelers load.

I'll try to turn the nigh to day

Make flowers bloom along the way.

(Chorus)

Life's evening sun is sinking low,

a few more days and I must go

to meet the deeds that I have done,

where there will be no setting sun.

Light at the River

There's a deep troubled river flowing on

before its waters are deep and wide.

but faith sees a light, yes a beacon bright

just down by the riverside

(Chorus)

There's a light at the river

a light at the river.

There's a light at the river I can see.

My Lord He will stand and hold in His hand,

a light at the river for me.

Over the dark foaming waters

from the unseen shore

Angels band in their beauty glide,

and will bear us a way to the realms of day,

into the light on the other side.

(Chorus)

To this deep endless river

we must one day cross.

and we'll cross o'er its water wide.

Oh how happy we will be

if by faith we can see

the light on the other side.

Lighthouse

Today I saw a light on the water

It was so far I could barely see

The water was cold,

and the sea was raging

So I cried, Oh lord please help me

So I tried so hard to find it

But it wasn't meant to be

So that light seemed lost to me forever

So I cried, Oh lord please help me

So I looked around,

and guess who found me

He said I'm here and I wont leave

I said thank you Jesus my savior

So I cried, Oh lord please help me

He said that light you saw in the distance

The one that you could barely see

You will be that light for the next one

So I cried, Oh lord please help me

So today I am that old lighthouse

So that all will come to see

That my savior, will lead you from the troubled waters

If you just cry, Oh lord please help me

Lord You're the Best Thing

You've been my friend for so long

You were right and I was wrong.

I can't repay all the love you've given me.

You were my friend when no one cared,

I was alone, but you were there.

Lord, you're the best thing that ever happened to me.

(Chorus)

I owe it all to you, Lord.

All I have is yours, Lord.

Take my life and make me what you'd have me be.

I'm your child, you're my father.

I'm the clay and you're the potter.

Lord, you're the best thing that ever happened to me.

All my treasure, all my dreams

All of these you've given to me.

When troubles come

you're always there to make me smile.

Let come what may, Thy will be done.

I love you, Jesus, God's only son.

Lord, you're the best thing that ever happened to me.

Now when my time has come to go

and I must leave all troubles here below,

and I hear the angels gently calling me,

as I leave this world below.

You'll hear me shouting as I go,

Lord, you're the best thing that ever happened to me.

Old Time Christian

My house is not a Mansion

I drive no fancy car.

In this world I may never travel very far.

but through all of these troubles and trials that we see.

Just an old time Christian

That's all I want to be.

(Chorus)

I'm proud to bea Christian

I'm proud to wear His name.

Jesus Christ is my Savior.

Of Him I'm not ashamed.

On a hill called Golgotha

They nailed Him to a tree.

It was there that my Savior,

Was not ashamed of me.

Don't look on me in pity,

and think I'm doing bad.

For this life I'm now living

It's the best I've ever had

God's plan of Salvation is hard for some to see.

But still and old time Christian that's all I want to be.

(Chorus)

I'm an heir to the Father

and a joint heir with His son.

There's a crown of life awaiting

for those who overcome.

I just want to thank you Jesus,

for the time you set me free.

and an old time Christian that's all I want to be.

On Heaven's Bright Shore

Out on the hills of Glory Land

SO happy and free at God's right hand.

They tell of a place through miraculous grace.

On Heaven's bright shore.

Pilgrims on earth some day will go

to live in that home forever more.

By trusting in Him who died for sin,

and rose from the grave.

(Chorus)

On Heaven's bright shore there'll be no dying

not one little grave in all that fair land.

Not even a tear will dim the eye and no one

up there will say goodbye.

Just singing His Praise through endless days

on Heaven's bright shore.

When I must cross the rolling tide,

Someone will be on the other side.

To welcome my soul to that fair land.

made perfect by love.

When I walk up that milkyway,

I'll see that homecoming in a ray.

How great it must be for angels to see

a pilgrim reach home.

Rank Stranger

I wandered today to my home in the mountains

To talk with old friends and my kindred to see

When I reached my old home

There was no one to greet me

But I found they were all rank strangers to me.

(Chorus)

EVERYBODY I MET SEEMED TO BE A RANK STRANGER

NO MOTHER OR DAD NOT A FRIEND COULD I SEE

THEY KNEW NOT MY NAME AND I KNEW NOT THEIR FACES

BUT I FOUND THEY WERE ALL RANK STRANGERS TO ME.

Well I went down the road to inquire of some neighbors

I asked everyone where the old folks could be

They knew not my name and I knew not their faces.

But I found they were all rank strangers to me.

(Chorus)

Well they've all moved away said the voice of a stranger

To a beautiful home by the bright crystal sea.

Some beautiful day, Ill meet them in Heaven

Where no one will be a rank stranger to me.

Savior's Precious Blood

There's a crimson river flowing

Down the cross where Jesus died

It's flowing down the mountains

Through the valleys deep and wide

It's a balm to heal the nations

A reservoir of love

I'm talking about my Savior's precious blood.

Coming from His throne in glory

Man in flesh, yet God divine

Walked among us pure and holy

Spotless lamb, oh He did shine

In His veins flowed man’s redemption

From a heart of perfect love

I'm talking about my Savior's precious blood.

(Chorus)

It will heal your mind and body

It will save your soul from sin

It will take you back to Heaven

Where it all began

It will take you through the fire

It will take you through the flood

I'm talking about my Savior's precious blood.

It will comfort and protect you

In your midnight hours alone

It will save your wayward children

And restore your broken home

Fly your spirit out of prison

Turn your hatred into love

I'm talking about my Savior's precious blood.

Six Hours on the Cross

My Savior came down from Heaven one day

The price for our sins,

He came down to pay

He carried the cross up Calvary’s Hill

He was nailed to the cross,

twas His own Father's will.

He died on the Cross, was laid in the grave

For the sins of this world, His own life He gave.

The sun would not shine, the earth it did quake

And there at the tomb, the keepers did shake.

Six hours on the cross, three days in the tomb

The disciples were filled with sorrow and gloom

The grave opened wide, He rose from the dead

He paid for our sins just like He had said.

He was born as a child, yet he was a king.

When I hear the sweet news it makes my heart sing

This world was in darkness while he lay in the tomb.

Like a beautiful rose, after three days he bloomed

When the winter winds blow, our hearts fill with gloom

We wonder how long till the sweet roses bloom.

Be patient and faithful some day he will come.

To gather His roses and take them all home.

He was born as a child, yet he was a king

When I hear the sweet news it makes my heart sing

This world was in darkness while he lay in the tomb.

Like a beautiful rose, after three days He bloomed.

The Great Speckled Bird

What a beautiful thought I am thinking

Concerning that great speckled bird

Remember her name is recorded

On the pages of God's holy word.

All the other birds are flocked around her

They watch every move that she makes

But I'm sure they can watch until evening

And really they will find no mistake.

She is spreading her wings for a journey

She is going to fly by and by

And when the trumpet sounds in the morning

She will meet the dear Lord in the Sky.

In the presence of her represses

With a song never uttered before

She will rise and be gone in a moment

Where the great tribulations are over

I'm glad I have learned of her meekness

I'm glad that my name is on her book

For I want to be one never fearing

On the face of my Savior to look.

When He cometh descending from Heaven

On a cloud as He writes in His word

I'll joyfully be carried to meet Him

On the wings of that great speckled bird.

Two Coats

Two coats lay before me

An old and the new

And I could have either

And what must! do

One coat was ugly and terribly worn

The other a new one had never been worn.

(Chorus)

I'll tell you the best thing

I ever did do

I laid off the old coat

And put on the new

The old coat was earthly

And not fit to wear

I thought of it often

And shed many a tear

When there was a new one

Presented to view

I laid off the old coat

And put on the new.

The old coat was earthly

And made of the ground

We all bear His image The whole world around

The next was my Savior

From Heaven so fair

He gave me this new coat

You now see me wear

Victory in Jesus

I heard an old, old story

How a Savior came from Glory

How He gave His life on Calvary

To save a wretch like me

I heard about His groaning

Of His precious blood atoning

Then I repented of my sins

And won the victory

(Chorus)

OH VICTORY IN JESUS,

MY SAVIOR FOREVER!

HE SOUGHT ME AND BOUGHT ME

WITH HIS REDEEMING BLOOD

HE LOVED ME ERE I KNEW HIM

AND ALL MY LOVE IS DUE HIM

HE PLUNGED ME TO VICTORY

BENEATH THE CLEANSING FLOOD.

I heard about His healing

Of His cleansing power revealing

How He made the lame to walk again

And caused the blind to see.

And then I cried, Dear Jesus

Come and heal my broken spirit

And somehow Jesus came

And brought me victory

I heard about a mansion

He has built for me in glory

And I heard about the streets of gold

Beyond the crystal sea

About the angels singing

And the old redemption story

And some sweet day I'll sing of victory.

What a Day That Will Be

There is coming a day

When no heartaches shall come

No more clouds in the sky

No more tears to dim the eye

All is peace forever more

On that happy golden shore

What a day, glorious day that will be

What a day that will be

When my Jesus I shall see

And I look upon His face

The One who saved me by His grace

When He takes me by the hand

And leads me through the Promised Land

What a day, glorious day that will be

There'll be no sorrow there

No more burdens to bear

No more sickness no more pain

No more parting over there

And forever I will be

With the One who died for me

What a day, glorious day that will be

Will The Circle Be Unbroken

I was standing by the window

It was on one cloudy day

When I saw the hearse come rolling

For to carry my mother away.

(Chorus)

WILL THE CIRCLE BE UNBROKEN

BY AND BY LORD, BY AND BY

THERE'S A BETTER HOME AWAITING

IN THE SKY LORD, IN THE SKY

Lord, I told the undertaker

Undertaker, please drive slow

For this body you are hauling

Lord, I hate to see her go.

I followed closely on behind her

Trying to hold up and be brave

But I could not hide my sorrow

When they laid her in the grave.

I went home Lord, my home was lonesome

I missed my mother, she was gone

All my brothers and sisters crying

What a home so sad and alone.

One by one our family’s leaving

One by one they went away

But I prayed Lord to meet them

In the great Judgement day.
